Professor Pollicino is a Full Professor of Constitutional Law and AI Law at BocconiUniversity, where he directs the second-level Master’s programme LLM in Law ofTechnology and Automated Systems (LATAS). He is President of DICOPO – Centrefor Digital Constitutionalism and Policy (Brussels) and a SupremeCourt-qualified lawyer.
In 2014, he wasthe only jurist in Italy to obtain, concurrently, three qualifications as FullProfessor in Constitutional Law, Comparative Law and European Union Law. He isamong the most cited European constitutional scholars in the fields offundamental rights online, digital technologies, artificial intelligencegovernance and counter-disinformation regulation.
He has overtwenty years’ experience advising public institutions, independent authoritiesand private entities on media law, digital regulation, data protection andtechnology-related disputes. His practice includes constitutional and EUlitigation before the Court of Justice of the European Union and the EuropeanCourt of Human Rights.
He advises onartificial intelligence regulation, AI governance and compliance, privacy anddata protection, data valorisation, freedom of expression online, contentmoderation and disinformation. He also supports public and private actors inconducting fundamental rights impact assessments in connection with European AIregulation and digital sustainability requirements.
He has workedwith international institutions and organisations including the EuropeanCommission, the World Economic Forum and the OECD. He currently serves as legalexpert to the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, advisor to the ItalianNational Cybersecurity Agency, and member of national and international bodiesfocused on data governance and artificial intelligence.
He has been avisiting professor and visiting scholar at leading international universities,including Oxford, New York University and Sciences Po, and is a regular speakerat high-level conferences and closed-door forums on technology regulation andfundamental rights.
